The sword, one of the favorite weapons of martial arts practitioners, a combat element that has historically played a fundamental role in Korea. A nation inserted between great powers that survived by developing its techniques.

Haedong Gumdo is a traditional martial art focused on the handling of the single-edged Korean saber, identified as Gum.

The Chosun Haedong Gumdo Association was founded in 2015 in South Korea, by Grand Master Hwang Chi Gon. With 30 years of specializing in the art of the Korean sword, Grand Master Hwang manages the Association from the headquarters located in Masan City, South Korea.

Currently, CHGA has a presence in America, Europe, Asia and Africa. The CHGA has the aim of forming modern martial artists inspired by the philosophy of great warriors of history, specially of the Chosun dynasty, the golden age of Korean sword.  With the search for balance between body and mind through training with the Korean sword, the Association continues to expand around the world from the cradle of the Haedong Gumdo.
